First and foremost, the mission at Mountains & Skye is to create quality handmade products that are functional, beautiful, purposeful, and most of all, products that add value to your life experience.

But I didn’t want to stop there.

At Mountains & Skye I strive for a big picture view. Because of that, I use recycled, upcycled, salvaged, and repurposed or otherwise environmentally friendly materials whenever possible. Salvaged leather is used for most of the one-of-a-kind leather goods giving the leather a new life and keeping it from ending up in the landfills.

I also wanted to take this mission, and the motto of Functional | Beautiful | Purposeful, beyond the products themselves. I wanted to use packaging that was fun and most of all functional and reusable, such as the drawstring muslin bags that can be reused for so many different things.

And to go even further with the big picture view, I believe we are all connected. I believe that harming others ultimately harms everyone, including ourselves. And while there isn’t an easy answer to a lot of what goes on in this world, I can do my part in supporting those who have made it their life’s mission to help those in need.

Ten percent of Mountain & Skye’s profits from online sales will be donated to CAST, the Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking. That means that every online purchase, your purchase, will contribute to our donation to an organization that “has supported thousands of survivors through every phase of their journey to freedom from counseling, to legal resources, to housing, educational and leadership training and mentorship.” (from CAST website)

In addition, I plan to donate a portion of the profits from in-person shows to a local organization or run special promotions for organizations such as the Red Cross throughout the year. Be sure to sign up for the newsletter below to stay informed on specials and special causes!

Thank you for choosing Mountains & Skye to enrich your life, and as a result of your purchase, help improve the life of others! Thank you for helping create small ripples of good!
